Fahrenheit 451 In the book one of the major arguments is technology in the book getting in the way of people's understanding of the way the world has been working. In the beginning of the book Montag is doing a routine that he has been doing for a long time. After awhile Montag meets a young girl named Clarisse who shows him things he has never noticed before. After a while of hanging out with Clarisse he wants to tell his wife what he has noticed and learned about the world, but his wife is very ignorant.
